We can stay indoors all bundled up with our cozy throw in our comfy chair reading our seed catalogs and dreaming of spring gardens or... we can design the perfect placement for a lovely evergreen, southern shrub in our gardens, One that presents us with massive amounts of rosy pink and snow colored blooms for months during the cold months. A CHRISTMAS ROSE

A Christmas Rose...That is what we at Pinecone Perennials call one of our favorite southern evergreens, the Camellia.
The Camellia Sasanqua flowers early fall into early winter and most of the time are flowering in our gardens during the holidays, hence the name Christmas Rose.

We have just received a huge selection of different varieties in pinks, whites and reds in various heights and flower types.
The Camellia does extremely well in containers where they will be quite content for a number of years. Replace your tired annuals and add some pansies around the base of the plant and you now have a lovely addition on your front steps or back patio for the entire winter!

We also have the largest selection of pansies around, all looking gorgeous and just waiting to color up your beds or pots for the winter season.

Just a reminder... It is time to start thinking about the holidays and amaryllis and poinsettias and wreaths etc.
We are now taking orders for both wreaths and poinsettias, please let us know if we could help you add some sparkle to the season.

Something new for those of you who have gardeners in their lives or are in need of unusual hostess gifts...We have lovely, special garden themed "just a thought" gifts, and will have a variety of orchid and poinsettia arrangements for your festive table or to take to the last minute holiday party.

Sparkle and color in these next few darker, colder months will help us all smile! Add some now to your living areas raise your spirit!

Hi all, not to overwhelm you with another email, but we wanted to let you know our greenhouse at the garden center is full of wonderful orchids just in time for Fall.  Bring in your own container or choose from any one of our lovely Napa pots to create a beautiful arrangement.

MAY WE INTRODUCE MAILEE!

Hello my friends. My name is Mailee (pronounced Mailee) which means beautiful flower in Hawaiian. I am the newest addition to the Pinecone family and am looking forward to meeting all of you! I am certainly the apple of my mom’s and dad’s eye and although I am very young, I am learning the ropes around the garden center quickly.

Please come for a visit soon and I will be glad to give you a few wet, puppy kisses.

Mailee such a Lady We want to thank all of you who so graciously offered your condolences, sent cards, emails, phone calls, fruit baskets, donations in Rudy’s name etc. We were overwhelmed and so grateful for wonderful people who are so caring. It has been a difficult time (especially for Wendy at the store without Rudy) however, all of your loving thoughts have helped get us through and therefore able to enjoy the new little one.

We love you all,

Wendy and Rob

Friday, June 21, 2013

We are heartbroken to have to tell the entire Pinecone family that our much loved "Bud" Rudy has passed away.

He will surely be missed by all of us.The years go by so quickly it seems.  He has been with us and especially Wendy through everything.  Good and bad, thick and thin, steadfast and always ready to go to work. His cheery welcome greetings every day between all the flowers was a comfort and made us all smile.

To everyone who let him brighten their day a little when you visited over the past 12 years and in turn made his day as well, we can never thank you enough.

Spring has Sprung!

Oh where to start?  Hopefully the cold is a memory and the sun has found its way to us for good....We are so excited for Spring at Pinecone Perennials! It is always great to see familiar friends and new faces as we gear up for the season.  We have so much in stock already....Spring vegetables are here, lettuce, broccoli, cabbage, collards, spinach, beets and more.....

We may be biased but our pansies are so happy. Color, color, and more color!  They will last till May and bring your cheer all Spring. One customer referred to them as the happy flower.  We agree!

But what we may be the most giddy about is our new collection of cachpots from Napa. Stunning colors, shapes and finishes.  Just waiting for an orchid arrangement, these will easily become a favorite in your home!

Finally, we wanted to share that our website pineconeperennials.com is up and running full of beautiful pictures for inspiration, we are also on Facebook so visit us on fb and like us please! See you soon!
